Commerce graduates wanting to teach business in school at different levels and to develop experience and abilities to become a Teacher choose Bachelor of Education in Commerce. The major objective of this course is to offer students with theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of business such as Business Studies, Accounting, Economics, Physical Education and English.
Teachers trained to teach commerce in our college usually have the required knowledge, skills and attitudes for the successful handling of students by imparting knowledge on trade, commerce and industry, group discussions, seminars and other activities.
Economics plays a vital role in the development of the economy. The department of economics commenced during 2009 – 2010 with the first batch enrolling in full strength.
Teaching and Assessment
- The department follows a mix of both theory and practical teaching practices.
- ICT-based teaching, lectures, case studies, presentations and field trips are given due importance.
- The concepts taught are aided with their practical implications through eminent guest speakers from other universities and institutions.
- To ensure that the students are assimilating the knowledge being imparted to them, frequent tests, model examinations for 3 hours and unit tests are conducted.

Biology Is a Body of Facts and theories concerned with the myriad facts of all kinds of living things and it is not simply a mixture but some determined ratio of botany and zoology. It can be defined as the science of life. Biology is the most inexhaustible storehouse of knowledge. The fundamental characteristic of biology is its possibility of unlimited growth since nature is inexhaustible knowledge to the learners.
As such there is an infinite scope of boarding one’s horizon of knowledge, it has exposed to mankind infinite avenues of knowledge in nature, living and non–living, the world beyond human perception thereby making us conscious of the unknown to be explored. It develops insights into the mysteries of creation and existence, which have always attracted the attention of man since the dawn of civilization. Biology is a subject, which has aesthetic value, and this aesthetic sense is developed in the students. Biology gives opportunities for creative thinking and constructive, imagination. This brings about behavioural changes in the learner and enriches has made a tremendous impact on the cultural life of the present people.
The department of Physical science was established in 2008-2009. The Department attracted a wide spectrum of talented faculty. Our faculty have made significant contributions to novel interdisciplinary areas interfacing physics, chemistry and mathematics, The department has well-developed computing facilities and a well-equipped laboratory. Our faculty is committed to excellence in teaching. The low student–to–faculty ratio in the Physical Sciences Department means students and faculty get to know each other, and students have easy access to faculty for discussions, help and advice on their current course work and plans for the future. Many of our alumni are now teaching chemistry and physics subjects at schools and colleges.
The Mathematics Department is one of the major and vibrant departments started in 2008 and has been in the forefront, providing quality education and training in the field. The department has a well-equipped classroom with good ventilation and seating arrangement. The classroom has a provision for an ICT-enabled teaching-learning process.
Apart from ICT-related equipment, the Mathematics classroom is also used as a Mathematics Laboratory for the students to perform their tasks related to Mathematics. The present curriculum and syllabus provides training in such diverse mathematical disciplines like algebra, analysis, vector calculus, statistics, differential equations, mechanics, and computer programming. As a result, students will have a wide variety of career options to choose from. The students are also made to participate in co-curricular activities like Essay writing, poem writing, Elocution competition, oratorical contest, debate, quizzes, sports, games etc.

The department of history offers an Undergraduate History course which covers major topics like the study of the evolution of human civilizations down the ages i.e., from the pre-historic to the present times, major events that took place both in India as well as across the world and discovery of various things that brought remarkable changes. History course has always been very popular and widespread among students. The course is divided into six semesters. The course opens many spheres for them after the completion with job opportunities – Archeologist, Historian, Journalist, Tour Guide, History Teacher, etc.
